JadaJada improvises in English

In addition to Pancy, JadaJada consists of 11 actors and two musicians. Nine of the actors are Finnish, one is American and one is Kazakh. In the group there are teachers and researchers, among other professions.
“The more different kinds of people we have the better. The members of JadaJada wanted some extra spice in their lives and started doing improv”, Pancy says.
Tuure Pitkänen, a political assistant who joined JadaJada three months ago thinks that improvisational theatre is a very good way of relaxing, relieving stress and forgetting about the pressures of everyday life.
“Improv also helps with stage fright. If you have the courage to be a dog, for example, on stage in front of a hundred people, you are not afraid of mistakes anymore and you learn to take failure less seriously”, Pitkänen sums up.
The evening grows long and O’connells fills up with people. Most cannot find a seat, but the atmosphere is warm.
”An improvisational theatre performance is not necessarily always funny, it can also be sad. In a pub, however, people expect to see funny and relaxed improv, so let’s bring out our best tonight”, Pancy cheers his team on.
The theatre group gets up on stage and the crowd bursts into applause. Let the lively dialogue begin.
